The University sends 60 student leaders from the Main Campus' four student organizations, including the Supreme Student Council (SSC), Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP), Young Environmentalist Society Organization (YES-O), and Red Cross Youth (RCY), to participate and witness the historic event for the Municipality of Estancia.
The opening program begins with the traditional foot parade to mark the official commencement of the week-long celebration, which is attended by officials from various Barangays of Estancia, Faculty Members, and Students of High Schools, Integrated High Schools, and Elementary Schools of Estancia, NISU student leaders, Local Government Units (LGU) and Non Government Organizations, Estancia Public Market vendors and Business establishments, and Farmer's Association of Estancia.
"As an official of the Municipality, in my own capacity, I would like to welcome everybody to the opening ceremony of our week-long celebration of the 104th foundation of the Municipality of Estancia. To all who participated in the parade with me, thank you for witnessing the unity of every Estanciahanon and our will to celebrate the foundation day," said Ret. Gen. Susan Jalla, Executive Assistant III, Office of the Mayor.
Along with the Festival's opening ceremony, Estancia LGU holds the grand opening of the Agri-Fisheries Trade Fair 2022, where Kiosks from various Barangays showcased their local products, such as Fruits, Vegetables, and Sweet Delicacies.
They also open the Nostalgia de Estancia (Historical exhibit), a display of old local artifacts and historical records of Estancia, including photographs of past municipal leaders dating from 1930 to the present.
"With this, we are again reminded of our social and community responsibility as Estanciahanon. This commemoration instills and develops in the minds and hearts of the people of Estancia, particularly in our youth and students, so that we can go on with all the activities and surpass the challenges ahead of us," said Ret. General Auddie Arroyo, Municipal Administrator.
"On behalf of the Mayor, we thank you all for your indispensable participation," he added, addressing those who showed overwhelming support and participated in the ceremony despite the hot weather condition.
Moreover, Mrs. Ginalen Ruth Sumile-Loy, Head of Estancia Tourism Executive Council of Consultants, discusses the event overview and the flow of all activities to be held in the coming days. She emphasizes that Estanciahanon should show up and support the planned events to make the entire celebration memorable, fun, and exciting.
