NISU President opens 5th Regional Research Conference

Northern Iloilo State University President Bobby Gerardo formally opened the 5th Regional Research Conference at the Mini Theater on October 5, 2022.
The conference will run from October 5-7, 2022, and will provide a platform to showcase the various research outputs and innovations of the different state universities and colleges (SUCs) in Region VI.
"Northern Iloilo State University is committed to become a leader in producing knowledge that could help improve the way of life, enhance the teaching and learning environment, and transfer technology to the community to help elevate their economic conditions," said Dr. Gerardo.
Among the participants were from the NISU-Main Campus and its external campuses (Barotac Viejo, Batad, Concepcion, Lemery, Victorino Salcedo, Ajuy), Capiz State University-Pilar Campus, Deped Ajuy, Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, and West Visayas State University.
"This conference is a strategic move to intensify our local, regional, and international linkages leading to an amplified role in research, extension, and innovation and transforming workforce into globally competitive faculty of the university," Dr. Allemar Jhone P. Delima, NISU's Vice President for Research and Extension Services, noted.
On the other hand, Prof. Yungcheol Byun, Department of Computer Engineering, Jeju National University, also shared inputs on his major area of Anomaly Detection with the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Meanwhile, the first day of the event commenced with two parallel sessions of the different clusters namely Agriculture, Fisheries, Education, and Social Studies with the presence of caliber external evaluators and internal evaluators.
"I’m quite familiar with my studies. With regards to presenting it to the external and internal panel, the results were good. As for the interaction between the panelists and the presentation, it was congenial and they were approachable. Also, proper inputs were delivered by our external and internal panelists," Jomar Von Laforteza, Laboratory Assistant of the Central Science Laboratory, NISU, explained.
Dr. April Aura Andong Cacho from NISU-Lemery Campus, a presenter of the Education and Social Studies cluster, shared that she invested more time in time management in constructing and finalizing documents and expected the fear of facing the panelists. She added that there was socialization with others in terms of establishing discourse and interaction and beaming with camaraderie.
In addition, a plenary talk was held with Dr. Andrew Eusebio S. Tan, Vice President, Office of Research and Extension Services, Carlos Hidalgo Memorial State University.

Innovative and Multidisciplinary Research
This three-day conference was held on September 8-10, 2021 via Zoom.
The NIPSC Regional Research Conference aimed to share knowledge and practices in doing research, put emphasis on the significance of synergy in research and strengthen R&D collaborations towards relevant and science-based interventions.
The participants of the conference were the educators from the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Region.

Training on Research Proposal Writing
The NRCP RDLeader, Dr. Gerald F. Quinitio, leads the two-day Training on Research Proposal Writing held last February 9-10, 2021 at the NIPSC Executive Lounge. This is the first activity for the Tranche 2 deliverables of the RDLead Project of NRCP with NIPSC.

Training-Workshop on the Utilization of Research Outputs for Policy, Program, Process, and Advocacy Enhancements
The NIPSC Office of the Research and Development Services held a two-day Training-Workshop on the Utilization of Research Outputs for Policy, Program, Process, and Advocacy Enhancements last February 3-4, 2021 via Zoom Virtual Conferencing.
This training-workshop was headed by the renowned Resource Speaker, Dr. Genaro V. Japos, and was joined by the researchers and extensionists of the different schools/institutes and NIPSC external campuses.
Internal Audit of Office of the Research and Development Services for ISO Accreditation
LOOK: The Office of the Research and Development Services was audited for the upcoming ISO Accreditation during the Internal Audit of NIPSC Main Campus last January 26-27, 2021.
