“We will continue to extend our helping hands”, said by Dr. Bobby D. Gerardo, president of the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC) during the installation of the Solar Kits to the beneficiaries of Barangay Gabi in Gigantes Islands, Carles, Iloilo on April 20, 2022.
On the other hand, Dr. Veminrose Clariza-Samuel, the director of the extension services challenged the beneficiaries to take good care of the solar kits which were personally installed by the president with the help of the faculty members and students of the School of Industrial Technology with their dean, Dr. Jeremias Gabion.
“Kabay pa nga inyo halungan ang ining gin hatag namon sa inyo para mapa sanag ang inyo tagsa-tagsa ka panimalay”, she said. “Karon sa gab -e manami na ang inyo pag sinalayo tungod sa kasanag nga gin dala sa inyo sang NIPSC sa bulig sang amon presidente, she added.
The Office of the Extension Services conducted a survey visit to the island to identify the most qualified recipients of the program. A total of 44 families were given the solar kits in partnership with Korea International Cooperating Agency (KOICA) and Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PHILKOFA).
Meanwhile, SB Member Leo Francisco of Carles and the faculty members of NIPSC adopted school - Granada National High School Ballesteros Campus were present during the turning over ceremony.
